This is what I call a Photo Post.
I put these together when inspiration strikes, when I feel like I need a little bit more beauty in the moment, when I want reminisce, when I am down, when I am lazy and don’t want to write a long post, when it’s late and that’s all I have the energy for, when it’s something I’ve been meaning to share for a while. There are many reasons for me to work on a post that lacks words and instead appeals to the visual person in me.
This photo post is from the time when Lexi just turned 2. It was shortly after her birthday that we decided to take a trip to one of the most beautiful places I’ve been to, Bok Tower and Gardens in Central Florida. It’s a truly unique place in Florida and I’ve always wanted to bring Lexi back here, the place where her dad and I took our anniversary photos shortly before we decided to get pregnant.
Brian and Kristy came with us, so it was extra special to have both Lexitwins in this place. The photos really speak for themselves, but I will add a few comments here and there under some of the photos.
Lexi, at that point potty trained, was showing Alexa how to use a potty. It was hilarious to watch them. Alexa was so interested and Lexi looked so serious trying to unfold the portable potty.

On our way up the hill, we passed a beautiful orange tree orchard. This was Lexi’s first experience picking fruit and she was so excited.
Soon we got up to the Bok Tower and were surrounded by awe-inspiring beauty. Moss covered trees with sun streaming through the branches, and towering building surrounded by a moat, lakes, flowers, swans, hills, it was all just too amazing to describe.
Of course, there were lots of breastfeeding breaks, during one of which Alexa seemed to be really interested in what Lexi for doing.
Towards the end, both the girls were getting tired, having hiked the whole day without naps. This was one of the breaks on the long way back to the parking.
I cannot wait to visit it once again, maybe for a special photoshoot when my mom comes, or maybe just to relax and have a picnic. The older Lexi gets, the more fun the experiences become as she can comprehend more and is interested in more. Just these last half a year have shown a tremendous change. I have loved watching her grow throughout this year, it has been truly magical.
