This month and into the next month, we take off on an adventure around Europe, touring different countries and cities during the winter holidays, alongside my boyfriend and my mom.
Going around Europe isn’t going to be an easy task with a kid and elderly (a 5 year old and a 70 year old), but we are willing to keep an open mind and a flexible heart and make it an unforgettable adventure and then write guides on everything we learned during that month on how to bring your whole family, all three generations to Europe and not regret it.
Day 1: Paris, France
Paris met us with bone chilling cold and rain. Despite that, we spent the day exploring and seeing what we could within a day. We managed to see the Eiffel Tower, Notre Dame, Montmartre, ate in a local French restaurant, figured out Parisian metro and made it home safely to pass out at 3am local time. Next up-train ride to Strasbourg, France to see Christmas markets.
Day 2: Strasbourg, France
After Paris, we caught a train to Strasbourg. Strasbourg has been my favorite town in Europe ever since our river cruise in August. It’s incredibly charming and clean. So on our way to Southwest Germany, we opted to stop in Strasbourg rather than spend an extra day in Paris.
Strasbourg during Christmas is absolutely magical. There are no other words for it. More to come on everything from our trip, and I leave you with one picture of the day below!
Day 3: Stuttgart German Christmas Markets
This little one is a trooper, I have to say! Cold, snow, food on the go, 16 hour days, little sleep and there is no complaining. She’s just taking it in and having fun. I don’t think I would be as pleasant if I were 5 running around Europe. Or maybe Europe IS for kids 😉
Picture: Resting after traveling all day and visiting our first German Christmas market.
Day 4: Black Forest, Germany
The first full day in the Black Forest and we went straight to the small slopes to sled and snow tube.
After spending the whole day snow tubing and sledging in the slopes of Black Forest, we decided to relax while Joe was snowboarding and go explore the neighborhood by foot.
Lexi absolutely loved the relaxing walk, rolling in the snow, building a mini snowman, running around and jumping into the snow.
And Black Forest is absolutely amazing by the way! So pretty!
